This should have a million notes… we can sit and reblog a bunch of weed post (that gets almost up to 60,000 notes) but we cant reblog something REAL like this.

I don’t have to do shit. However, I will take into account that people from that time were extremely cruel and rationalized it through religion. I will acknowledge that because of things like this that it has been detrimental to African Americans in the long run. And I know that whatever I try to do to understand will only scratch the surface of a long and painful topic that has been around longer than I would like to think about. 

Lastly, just because someone is white and American, doesn’t mean that our ancestors were slave owners. It’s like me assuming that every African American’s past family were all slaves. It isn’t always the case.
